Growing up, it was almost like every child had their future planned out by their parents and part of that future plan was to go to University and get a degree. This in itself was a fantastic idea given that back in Nigeria and Africa in general, education was perceived to be the one certain escape route out of poverty. However, in the advent technology, various sectors of the economy have witnessed drastic changes; children are growing up wanting to be YouTubers, people are becoming Social Media influencers and a career in Digital Marketing is now paying a salary equivalent to a Fortune 500 job.

There is an African Proverbs that says “If you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to far, go together” implying that except we align ourselves to positive relationships, the achievement of any desired result remains distant. This leads me to conclude that there is a correlation between the calibre of our relationships and the fulfilment of one’s purpose.
I recently came across a quote that said ” You are the same today as you will be in five years, except for two things: the people you meet and the books you read. We live in a time and age where one,s life is estimated by his or her fashion trend, the car driven or the coziness of their place of abode but the reality is that information, knowledge and ideas have always been the catalyst that brought about a change in any establishment. But the question remains, How is it that people are not thinking smarter, speaking smarter and acting smarter? my answer will be that it is not as a result of dearth of information but a lack of an organised platform for learning; for information is best assimilated when delivered in a structured and organised manner that is bespoke to its potential user.
As a result of the limited life of man, there is often tendency for people to want to experience all the good things of life all at once, forgetting that the mere thought of considering the best option amongst the plethora of opportunities available is exhausting in itself. This misguided pursuit of several things all at once has led many to experience burn-outs, nervous breakdowns as well as destroying valuable relationships with those that matter the most in their lives.
There has been an age long debate as to what Leadership style is deemed to be the best, given the varying trends of affairs in the marketplace as well as the fast paced competition witnessed by many businesses. The panacea to this debate is one that is mostly likely to remain a mystery as its participants seem to either favour The Authoritarian/Dictatorship, The Paternalistic, The Democratic or The Laissez- Faire style of Leadership. In other words, there is no one universally accepted style.
